Oscar-winning film “Parasite” has its good and bad parts. The only good part about this film is the non-predictable story.

“Parasite” just won an Oscar. A foreign language film just won an Oscar. It was the first foreign language film to ever win an Oscar for Best Picture. It won a total of 4 Oscars. That’s huge but let’s break the movie down and see what’s the hype about. I have mixed feelings about “Parasite”.

Plot – Greed and class discrimination threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan.

The starting was really good. I was saying to myself “that’s how you start a movie to engage someone”. I was really impressed. First 20-30 minutes of the movie were really something else. My eyes were stuck to the screen. You kinda feel some kind of horror when you are watching this. This is not particularly a horror movie but you will get scared.

“Parasite” is the perfect mix of drama and mystery. The director nailed this project. The movie threw hard non-predictable punches throughout. Every 10 minutes you can expect something new.

I have few complaints about this movie. Firstly, the acting could have been better. Acting wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either. The ending was brilliant but it could have been executed in a different way.

Movie Ratings : 7.5/10

Parasite started well and then it faltered and became boring. All this bunker business saw me as well as others dozing off. Is it worthy of being the year’s best? No. Is it worthy of being the best in a foreign category. Probably yes.
